Thanks for visiting my blog! If you are reading this, then I have somehow managed to perform one of the biggest miracles in the modern age! Getting here was quite a feat for this technologically impaired blogger.
My name is Vicky, and I am a happily married, country-living mom of 5 great kids, a very tolerant daughter and son-in-law, 3 beautiful grandkids and 2 accepting stepsons. After 32 years of being totally immersed in Motherhood, my last daughter flew the coop and I am now an official (and content) Empty Nester.
Although I’m on the wrong side of 60, I still love to master new skills, whether it’s in the kitchen, my garden or my craft loft. Luckily, I have a high tolerance for failure, but I also possess enough stubbornness to persevere. Well, usually. Much of the time my “mastering” a skill means I earn a C+ in something. And that’s ok, sometimes. Who needs to learn how to knit socks, for instance, when you can happily lounge in front of the fire in the Winter, working on your 36th scarf? Truth be told, I think my children are afraid to open any packages from me, knowing full well it probably holds yet another scarf. Oh, well. There’s a good reason why Goodwill exists.
Most importantly, I am pretty darned good at laughing at my mistakes and at life, in general. I hope you’ll take a moment to get to know me, and in the future, for us to know each other. Welcome!
